Environmental responsibilities for future generations

As a County we are blessed with wonderful scenery and fabulous coasts and countryside.
And  we, as a County Council, take our responsibilities very seriously and want to see the County remain  environmentally class - leading.

Improving rail services is vital for Northumberland's prosperity

Passenger rail services are a significant priority for our council as we look to help get people off our roads and on to public transport. Railways help cut road congestion and in so doing pollution from cars which leads to poor air quality. 

Revolution in education is underway

On Wednesday I had the honour to present a paper to the North of Tyne Cabinet presenting my vision for every school in North of Tyne to be Good or Outstanding with the development of The Education Challenge.
